Habitat:
Large sedge-Typha marsh with Larix laricina but probably no Ericaceae with Eupatorium perfoliatum, E. maculatum, Chelone glabra, Alnus incana ssp. rugosa, and adjacent lower edge of forest of Acer saccharum, A. rubrum, Fraxinus americana, F. nigra.
Occurrence Remarks:
Clump of several stems, these somewhat fluted, ca. 5 m tall, to 9 cm in diameter. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw. Many next-year's staminate catkins, but few of this year's pistillate green "cones".
