Locality:
United States, Wisconsin, Grant, 2.8 km SW of Wauzeka, slight N-facing slope near top of ridge and edge bluff on S side of Wisconsin River valley.
Habitat:
Edge of young woods of Populus grandidentata, Zanthoxylum americanum, Prunus americana, Ulmus americana, U. rubra, Fraxinus americana, at edge of old agricultural fields now being burned and established as prairie.
Occurrence Remarks:
Shrubs 2.3 m tall. Flowers lightly fragrant; calyx reddish; petals white; anthers yellow. Common, scattered at edge of woods and open old field.
