Habitat:
Along grassed waterway between flat agricultural fields, with Carex, Spartina pectinacea, Solidago canadensis, Veronicastrum virginicum; wet prairie at time of settlement in the 1850s. Decades ago mowed twice a year for hay, now somewhat overgrown.
Occurrence Remarks:
Dense patch 4 x 3 m, but composed of sub-clumps of ca. 12 stems, 1.5 m tall. Voucher for wood specimen, MADw. Flowers white.
