Habitat: Ridgetop woods along dirt road which was old road between former agricultural fields, Quercus velutina, Betula papyrifera, Zanthoxylum americanum.
Occurrence Remarks: Small tree 8 m tall, 20 cm in diameter. With abundant flowers; petals white when open but light pink when opening. Several specimens of this species seen at edges of woods on ridgetop, but not aggregated and thus appear to be casual escapes and not remnants of old orchards.
