Habitat: SSW-facing dry prairie on steep slope w/ wind-eroded sandstone outcrops below, dolomite boulders above, & limestone cobble over the surface. Assoc.: Apocynum cannabinum, Carex richardsonii, Carex umbellata, Castilleja coccinea, Celastrus scandens, Comandra umbellata, Helianthus occidentalis, Lithospermum canescens, Ratibida pinnata, Monarda fistulosa, Physocarpus opulifolius, Silphium laciniatum, Solidago speciosa, & Schizachyrium scoparium.
Occurrence Remarks: Very common. Smaller (northern) spine of the ridge supporting the southern of the two Battle Hollow prairies.
