Habitat: Sand barrens on level sandy ground slightly higher than adjacent floodplain, secondary succession on abandoned ag. land, open in places or with thin cover of shrubs & pole-sized trees (Quercus ellipsoidalis, Corylus americana, Pinus banksiana); in opening with Ambrosia artemisiifolia, Dichanthelium implicatum, Euthamia graminifolia, Fragaria virginiana, Phleum pratense, Poa compressa, & Toxicodendron rydbergii.
Occurrence Remarks: Rare.
