Habitat: Pine Barren, sandy soil along sandy roadside. Growing with Quercus ellipsoidalis, Arctostaphylos uva-ursi, Comptonia peregrina, Corylus americana, Andropogon gerardii, Aristida basiramea, Cyperus houghtonii, Digitaria ischaemum, Hieracium scabra, Polygonella articulata, etc.
Occurrence Remarks: Analysis of the Vegetative Cover of the Brule River Watershed, Revisited 2015-2018. Perennial herb with blue ray flowers.
