Habitat: Uppermost edge of Quercus velutina savanna, immediately below W-facing dry prairie on crumbling sandstone slope; fairly open habitat. Assoc.: Arabis lyrata, Asclepias syriaca, Liatris aspera, Pteridium aquilinum, Schizachyrium scoparium, Rubus occidentalis, Quercus velutina grubs, & Tradescantia ohiensis.
Occurrence Remarks: Local (rare?), forming a linear colony in savanna-prairie transition zone. Halfway down steep slope from crest of ridge at 1100 ft. elev. to bottom of unnamed hollow at 700 ft., base of smaller (northern) spine of ridge supporting the southern prairie.
