Habitat:
Grassy opening in Quercus velutina-Carya ovata savanna with dry prairie and oak barrens vegetation; assoc.: Bromus inermis (abundant), Desmodium illinoense (occasional), Eragrostis spectabilis (infreq.), Euphorbia corollata (freq.), Lespedeza capitata (infreq.), Medicago sativa (rare), Poa pratensis, Solidago nemoralis (infreq.), Symphyotrichum oolentangiense (occasional), and Verbena stricta (1 plant). Gently rolling, very sandy terrain, toward N edge of E-W-lying ridge of Cambrian sandstone.
Occurrence Remarks:
Locally frequent. First gl. 4.9--5.1 mm; second gl. 5.1--5.4 mm; anths. 0.7--0.8 mm.
