Habitat: In Boreal Forest, northeast-facing (40°) slope, along the Brule River. Growing with Abies balsamifera, Betula papyrifera, Fraxinus nigra, Prunus serotina, Alnus, Rubus parviflorus, Viburnum lentago, Parthenocissus inserta, Aster macrophyllus, Carex pedunculata, etc.
Occurrence Remarks: Analysis of the Vegetative Cover of the Brule River Watershed, Revisited 2015-2018. 9 feet tall shrub with red fruits.
