Georeference Remarks: Latitude/Longitude was derived from the Township, Range, Section location. This causes an imprecision.
Habitat: 2004 Jun 3: In oak woodland grading into overgrown disturbed area where individuals presumably are simply persisting. With Quercus rubra, Q. alba, Prunus serotina, P. virginiana, Acer Negundo, Toxicodendron radicans, Rosa, Sisyrinchium, Heuchera Richardsonii, Geranium maculatum, Pteridium aquilinum, Carex siccata, Helianthus strumosus, Aquilegia canadensis, Poa pratensis, Galium triflorum, Solidago canadensis [?], Agropyron repens [?], Monarda fistulosa.
Occurrence Remarks: 2004 Jun 3: Some individuals in early anthesis, but none with their terminal heads in full anthesis; many individuals only in bud. Bearing stolons and in very sandy soil. Seven clones seen, clones 2-5 sampled (numbering from E to W). "Individual 2 is likely the one clone found in 2003. Population ""Glover Bluff"". Specimen lost. 2005 Jun 13: Population recollected. Mid to late anthesis. Heads tomentose, rosette leaves densely tomentose abaxially, more lightly adaxially. Base of bluff along Dakota Rd has been logged of its oaks due to threat of oak-wilt disease. Now opened population flourishing in full sun and flowering abundantly, but how long it will persist as weedy vegetation moves in is questionable. Many clones & many rosettes. Parts of 2 clones ca 1.5 m apart collected (both specimens & living plants) near 2 ft diameter oak stump. [Sheet 3 of 3]
