Georeference Remarks: Latitude/Longitude was derived from the Township, Range, Section location. This causes an imprecision.

Habitat: Formerly pastured slope above road. Soil in the sods a black, fine sandy loam, not at all clayey or sticky. Large patch. With Quercus, Andropogon scoparius, Bouteloua curtipendula, Poa compressa & P. pratensis. Originally collected by Michael Nee, 1972 Sep 16. Population "Lafayette Co., Hwy M", individual 2B, grown in Test Garden 2, position C35. Individuals 2A & 2B were within 1 cm of one another and looked as thought they had been connected. Individual 2C was in the same sod but about 1 dm from plants 2A & 2B. Voucher for chromosome count of individual 2C: 2n = 22 II, 3 cells counted (1974 Apr 20).
