Georeference Remarks: Latitude/Longitude was derived from the Township, Range, Section location. This causes an imprecision.

Habitat: Formerly pastured slope above road. Soil in the sods a black, fine sandy loam, not at all clayey or sticky. Large patch. With Quercus, Andropogon scoparius, Bouteloua curtipendula, Poa compressa & P. pratensis. Originally collected by Michael Nee, 1972 Sep 16. Population "Lafayette Co., Hwy M", individual 1B, grown in Test Garden 2, position F6. Individuals 1A, 1B & 1C were within 2 cm of one another but not organically connected. Individuals 1A & 1B had the rotten remaiins of a rhizome pointing towards each other and are very likely the same genotype. Voucher for chromosome count of individual 1B: 2n = 22 II, 5 cells counted (1974 Apr 20).
