Habitat: Edge of bog. Bog moat, draining to lake, crossed by paper birches felled by beavers. Open water about 15 feet across, separating a floating sphagnum-tamarack bog from the hemlock forest upland. Water less than 6" deep, with Nymphaea. Abundant.
