Habitat: Small pond formed by impoundment of an intermittent stream above dike. Mmuddy shore of small pond above earthen berm, separated from S. americanum population below berm "M5" 1 ft. tall, stem creeping at base, rachis unbranched, some heads supra-axillary, fruits shining, constricted below equator.
