Habitat: Semi-open Quercus woodland with ample Tilia americana & Juniperus virginiana on top edge of Niagara dolomite escarpment; shrub layer: Symphoricarpos albus, Rhus typhina, Rubus Xneglectus; herb layer: Berteroa incana, Cystopteris tenuis, Eupatorium rugosum, Galium boreale, Hackelia deflexa, Polygonatum biflorum, Polymnia canadensis, Potentilla recta, Solidago flexicaulis. Carex peckii forming one little linear colony 36 X 18 in. right at very top edge of bedrock escarpment plus one little oval colony 2 X 3 ft. of 7 clumps 2 yds. back from edge under a juniper tree. Elev.: 1060 ft. (topo map); ca. 1185 ft. (GPS).
