Habitat: Growing in dry sandy soil along the open shoreline of lake. Densest populations occur on slightly higher sites that were former sand bars which were submerged during high water stages of the lake but have been exposed for the last 3 or 4 growing seasons. Associated with Astragalus alpinus, Astragalus canadensis, Conyza canadensis, Calamagrostis canadensis and Euthamia graminifolia. Numerous plants.
