A sunny, ice-polished, granite outcrop. [None of the habitat choices on the label were chosen] Fm. [from] Site in full sun atop granite outcrop. [Difficult specimen. Not. C. projecta since leaves are narrow and sheaths tight. Not. C. brevior since spikes are too numerous. Carex foenea or C. merrit-fernaldii typically have papillose sheaths.
