Habitat: Quercus alba (1 dominant)- Q. borealis (2 dom.)- Carya ovata (3 dom.) woods(with Ulmus americana, U. rubra, Prunus serotina &, in one area, Acer rubrum). Associated with the Carex were Geranium maculatum and seedlings of Sambucus canadensis, Acer rubrum, and Cornus racemosa.
