Habitat: Moist, fine-sandy soil, in nearly full sun. With Pteridium aquilinum, Danthonia spicata, Trifolium pratense, Fragaria virginiana, Calystegia spithamaea, Carex pensylvanica, and scattered clumps of Salix humilis.
Occurrence Remarks: Part of a dense, 0.3 m sq. clump. Sparingly but regularly established along 2.9 km of corridor. (DUL, UWSP, WIS)
