Associates: Acer saccharinum, Ulmus americana, Fraxinus pensylvanica, Quercus bicolor, Carya cordiformis, Laportea canadensis, Lysimachia nummularia, Aster lateriflorus, Boehmeria cylindrica, Phalaris arundinacea, Elymus virginiana, Carex lupulina, C. grayi, Phlox divaricata, Smilax tamnoides, Leersia virginica, Celtis occidentalis, Podophyllum peltatum, Menispermum canadense, Rudbeckia laciniata, Stachys tenuifolia, and Toxicodendron rydbergii.
