Habitat: Southern mesic hardwood forest on the S side of a glacial esker landform, on soils of the Sisson-Casco-Hochheim complex; assoc.: among mosses directly under Acer saccharum and Betula papyrifera. Six plants in pairs ca. 15--25 ft. apart along former railroad spur. Discovered and photographed by Pat Fairchild.
