Habitat:
25-acre southern mesic hardwood forest on rather hilly undulating morainal topography with S-, E-, and W-facing exposures, kettle depressions, and low areas that hold water part of the year. Dominated by Acer saccharum, with Quercus borealis and Fraxinus americana subdominant and Fagus grandifolia and Tilia americana in lesser amounts; groundlayer exceedingly rich, including uncommon and interesting spp. Assoc. (7866): Anemone quinquefolia, Carex blanda, C. pensylvanica, C. pedunculata, Cystopteris fragilis s.l., Galium aparine, Geranium maculatum, Ribes missouriense, Smilacina racemosa, etc. Richest woodland tract in the Natural Areas system.
