Habitat: Open grassy, S-facing, roadside bank, in semishade along lower edge of junky, 2nd-growth woods (mostly Populus grandidentata and Prunus serotina). Assoc.: Helianthus strumosus, Melilotus sp., Poa pratensis, Ratibida pinnata (rare), Symphyotrichum cordifolium, and S. laeve var. laeve, little else.
