Habitat: Quercus alba-Carya ovata southern upland hardwoods with Q. rubra, Celtis occidentalis, Juglans nigra, J. cinerea; recently cleared understory of Prunus serotina, Carya cordiformis, & Robinia pseudoacacia (sprouts); groundlayer extremely disturbed. Chaiturus in weediest, most open part of opening in light shade of small Juniperus virginiana trees & Fraxinus pennsylvanica saplings with Agastache nepetoides, Arctium minus, Daucus carota, Glechoma hederacea, Leonurus cardiaca, Nepeta cataria, Rudbeckia triloba, & Symphyotrichum pilosum. Plants 7--16 dm tall; cor. white, tinged reddish-pink around mouth. Locally established; very local, long persistent & spreading after cultivation around top of old miniature, artificially constructed waterfall. Sheet 2 of 3.
