Habitat: Seasonally wet area in a mixed hardwood forest generally dominated by sugar maple. Rocky, with low mounds, with most of the vegetation on the mounds. Diverse groundlayer. Population is on both sides of and in an old, swamped woods road. Associated species included black ash, Carpinus, Ribes cynosbati, Corylus cornuta, Ranunculus abortivus, R. recurvatus, Equisetum sylvaticum, E. arvense, Rubus pubescens, Athyrium filix-femina, Claytonia virginiana, Impatiens capensis, Panax trifolius, Cardamine concatenata, Arisaema atrorubens, Gymnocarpium dryopteris, Dryopteris carthusiana, Brachyelytrum erectum, Allium tricoccum, Carex pensylvanica, C. deweyana, and several other Carex species.
Occurrence Remarks: Hundreds of stems.
