Habitat: Growing in association with Zanthoxylum americanum, Rhamnus cathartica, Saponaria officinalis, Vitis riparia, Amorpha canescens, Spiraea alba, Gentiana andrewsii, Ulmus rubra, Spartina pectinata, and Betula nigra.
Occurrence Remarks: Herbarium specimen represents red ash. Population consists of both red and green ash in area. Voucher of Ames 30146 for the USDA-ARS North Central Regional Plant Introduction Station, Ames, IA and the U.S. National Plant Germplasm System.
