Habitat: Quercus macrocarpa savanna on SW-facing slope over sandstone bedrock; assoc.: Anemone virginiana, Celastrus scandens, Daucus carota, Elymus canadensis, E. hystrix, Lactuca canadensis, Oenothera biennis complex, Symphyotrichum oolentangiense, S. pilosum, Toxicodendron rydbergii, Verbena stricta, resprouting trees (Ulmus americana, Carya cordiformis) & shrubs (Rhamnus cathartica). Area under active management, reseeded w/ grasses & Eupatorium purpureum from on-site & a few spp. purchased from nursery.
Occurrence Remarks: Coreopsis population spontaneous, one clump of 10 stems in savanna and one younger clump of 2 stems a ways above savanna plant at lip of crest of ridge right along old plow line, latter growing in pure Bromus inermis with a Cirsium arvense rosette. Sheet 2 of 3.
