Locality: United States, Wisconsin, Clark, E side of parking lot at Super 8 Motel, 1000 East Division Street, Neillsville, S side of US 10
Habitat: On an incline, landscaped with small glacial cobbles.
Occurrence Remarks: Flowers dark purple; abundant. Kummerowia stipulacea (Maximowicz) Makino, Bot. Mag. (Tokyo) 28: 107. 1914, on the antrorse stem pubescence and the very prominent hairs on the leaflet margins. Improperly cited in Isely, 1998; the combination was not made by Schindler, when he erected the genus with a single species, striata. This segregate genus is widely accepted, including Isely, 1998, Nat. & Nat. Leguminosae and the USDA Plants website, as well as Legumes of the World, 2005.
