Habitat: Near the 2008 high water mark in sandy soils with some cobble mixed in, on a former sand bar, and in mucky organic soils of former lake bottom that was under water until 2008 and has only recently been exposed due to dry conditions in 2008 and 2009. Assoc. spp. include Astragalus alpinus var. alpinus, A. canadensis, Calamagrostis canadensis, Carex flava, Conyza canadensis, Eupartorium perfoliatum, Iris versicolor, Lycopus americanus, Oxytropis campestris var. chartacea, and Verbena hastata. 32 flowering stems along 5 portions of shoreline, Lake west: lat.long minutes decimal: N.426, W.633 (1 plant); N.404, W.256 (1); N.382, W.995 (1); N.461, W.256 (28); and Lake east: N.504, W.983 (1).
