Habitat: Mats drifting in a matrix of open water 18-24 inches deep and rooted clumps of reed canary grass and a rob robust sedge. Willow clumps were also present. Floating mats are located in a sort of moat between bog and stands of reed canary grass adjacent to N shore of wetland. Mat associates are Lysimachia thyrsiflora, Cicuta maculata, Galium sp, an unidentified grass, Lycopus uniflora, Lemna, non-sphagnous moss, Utricularia sp. Growing in very dense mats of stems (stem numbers uncountable), covering ca 3-5 square meters total. Individual mats were ca. 0.5 square meter.
