Habitat:
Northern wet forest dominated by Larix laricina (canopy ca 40%) and Alnus incana. Other woody species with low cover values include Abies balsamea, Picea mariana, Ilex mucronata, and Betula pumila. Ledum groenlandicum and Vaccinium oxycoccus are abundant. Area is dominated by sphagnum moss throughout, and is very rich in Carex species (including Carex chordorrhiza, C. disperma, C. canescens, C. tenuiflora, etc. Seventeen patches noted in early fruit.
