Habitat: Intermittently wet swale alongside low level sand ridge, upper terrace of river floodplain, filled with sedge meadow vegetation; Carex stricta dominant 1-Phalaris arundinacea subdom. 2-Calamagrostis canadensis subdom. 3, with Anemone canadensis, Asclepias incarnata, Carex sartwellii, C. haydenii, C. trichocarpa, Cicuta maculata, Equisetum arvense, Glyceria striata, Galium obtusum, Poa palustris, & Thalictrum dasycarpum. Loosely cespitose clump, at the base 33 cm across in one direction, 24 cm across in the other, with 66 sterile & 8 fertile shoots; per. 4.7--5.0 X 1.6--1.8 mm, L/W 2.8--3.0. Intermingled with grasses & other sedges.
