Habitat:
Moist, somewhat compacted clay soil, in nearly full sun. With scattered P. tremuloides and Amelanchier sanguinea shoots, Rosa acicularis, Bromus inermis, Melilotus alba, Aster ciliolatus, Solidago canadensis, Anemone canadensis, and Fragaria virginiana. Scattered small patches near weedy border of regenerating Populus tremuloides woods. Appears locally uncommon. Flowers pink-purple.
