Habitat: Mesic clay-based soil, in nearly full sun. With Agrostis gigantea, Phleum pratense, Hieracium aurantiacum, Achillea millefolium, Lotus corniculata, Leucanthemum vulgare, and Solidago canadensis. Forming extensive patches on one side of former pasture. Flowers deep blue.
