Forested wetland: narrow zone of Thuja occidentalis-Larix laricina swamp forming a fringe along the lower edge of a black ash-white birch-yellow birch swamp, a sort of transition zone between the hardwood swamp and the shoreline wet-marsh. Assoc.: Actaea rubra, Aralia racemosa, Epilobium sp., Caltha palustris (rare), Cicuta maculata (rare), Ilex verticillata, Iris sp., Lycopus uniflorus, Rubus pubescens, Smilx ecirrhata, Symplocarpus foetidus, and Thelypteris palustris. Right side of boardwalk as one enters area.
