Undisturbed northern mesic forest, at this spot Tsuga canadensis dominant with Acer saccharum subdominant, with Betula allegheniensis and B. papyrifera; shrub layer scarcely developed and herbaceous flora poor relative to under hardwoods elsewhere in stand. On S-facing slope rimming sedge-meadow-filled depression; ground quite bare; assoc.: Aralia nudicaulis, Carex communis, Maianthemum canadense, Oryzopsis asperifolia, and Polygonatum pubescens.
Occurrence Remarks:
Perigynia 2.8--3.2 mm.
