Habitat: In moist woods of quaking aspen, in partial shade and clay soil. Populus tremuloides, Alnus rugosa, Cornus stolonifera, Ribes hirtellum, Salix petiolaris, Salix pyrifolia, Rubus idaeus ssp. strigosus, Athyrium filix-femina, Calamagrostis canadensis, Epilobium coloratum, Impatiens capensis, Polygonum sagittatum, Equisetum slyvaticum, Dryopteris cristata, Galium asperellum, Mentha arvensis v. villosa, Rubus pubescens, Stellaria longifolia.
Occurrence Remarks: Rare: Five small groups of plants observed, with stems arising singly from base of plant. Flowering. Deer browising of some plants noted. Photos taken by Namestnik on Sept. 3, 2008, and specimen taken by Ryan J. Magana on Sept. 18, 2008. Sheet 3 of 3 (photos on this sheet).
