Habitat: Sand beaches with well developed complex of primary, secondary and occasionally tertiary dunes and swales; infrequently with active blowouts. Often dominated by beach grasses. Local areas are modern beaches and sea walls. Partially open sand on foredune dominated by Beach grass (Ammophila breviligulata) and Calamovilfa longifolia with Schizachyrium scoparium. Thick-spike wheat-grass (Elytrigia dasystachya ssp psammophila). Seaside spurge (Chamaesyce polygonifolia = Euphorbia polygonifolia) infrequent on foredunes.
Occurrence Remarks: Scattered rhizomatous plants thinly dispersed. Wpt 91.
