Habitat:
Sand beaches with well developed complex of primary, secondary and occasionally tertiary dunes and swales; infrequently with active blowouts. Often dominated by beach grasses. Local areas are narrow modern beaches and sea walls. Low limestone beach, dune swale with cobbles mixed with sand and silt. Cyperus bipartitus growing in wet sand with limestone flats near water's edge. Baltic rush (Juncus arcticus var. balticus), Ammophila breviligulata, Brassicaceae, Veronica spp., Artemisia caudata, Elymus canadensis, Aster spp., Kalm's lobelia (Lobelia kalmii).
