Habitat:
Narrow band of southern mesic forest (Quercus borealis dominant, with Tilia americana, Prunus serotina, Juglans nigra, Betula papyrifera) on gentle slope between old sandy field and creek bottom cat-tail marsh in hollow. More or less mosit lower edge. Associated species for Cochrane 11858: Onoclea sensibilis, Osmunda claytoniana, Dryopteris spinulosa var. spinulosa, Carex tenera, Hackelia virginiana, Aster lateriflorus, Rubus strigosus, and Cornus foemina ssp. racemosa.
