Habitat: Damp grassy artificial bank between gravelly road shoulder and wet Carex spp. meadow, with Calamagrostis canadensis locally dominant & Carex trichocarpa subdominant. Assoc.: Equisetum arvense, Thelypteris palustris, Typha latifolia, Agrostis gigantea, Muhlenbergia mexicana. Additional associates: Phalaris arundinacea, Poa pratensis, Carex tricocarpa, Asparagus officinalis, Salix rigida, Ulmus americana seedlings, Urtica dioica, Stellaria longifolia, Thalictrum dasycarpum, Ribes hirtellum, Spiraea alba, Trifolium pratense, Geranium maculatum, Oxalis stricta, Rhus radicans, Impatiens capensis, Parthenocissus inserta, Cicuta maculata, Cornus amomum, Lycopus americanus, L. uniflorus, Campanula aparinoides, Aster lucidulus, A. puniceus, A. simplex, Conyza canadensis, Solidago canadensis, S. gigantea.
