Habitat:
(Calcareous) fen, sedge-dominated mat-like zone near lakeshore, with Carex sterilis (dominant), C. lasiocarpa (subdominant), C. prairea, Chelone glabra, Aster borealis, Bidens coronata, Cirsium muticum, Eupatorium maculatum, Galium labradoricum, Gentiana procera, Lobelia kalmii, Lycopus uniflorus, Lythrum alatum, Muhlenbergia glomerata, Parnassia glauca, Salix candida, S. pedicellaris, Spiranthes cernua, etc. Unusually dwarfed like many of the herbs and some grasses (and shrubs?) at this site, a phenomenon observed in other high-carbonate fens.
