Habitat:
In places in rich cornfield (Zea mays) with Abutilon theophrasti, but not around the edge of the field where there is a thick growth of Panicum dichotomiflorum, Setaria faberi and other weeds. Common. Branching immediately above the base with dozens of ascending or erect stems rooting at the lowermost nodes, but only a few stems actually decumbent. Young inflorescences more/less symmetrical, the older fruiting ones with at least some of the branches bent to one side. Sheet 2 of 3.
