Habitat: Sandy banks & edges of fire-lane in dry jack pine forest (Pinus banksiana dominant, with Populus grandidentata, Quercus borealis, & Acer rubrum saplings). Associated species for Cochrane & Cochrane 9156-9162: Pteridium aquilinum, Danthonia spicata, Deschampsia flexuousa, Oryzopsis pungens, O. asperifolia, Panicum columbianum, P. cf. meridionale, Carex pensylvanica var. pensylvanica, C. communis, C. umbellata var. tonsa, Maianthemum canadense, Gaultheria procumbens, Diervilla lonicera, and Vaccinium angustifolium.
