Habitat:
Large open pit for extracting alluvial gravel and sand, with some crushed limestone gravel brought in from bluff quarry across the road. Dry and weedy, with few shrubs or trees. Solanum carolinense, Polanisia dodecandra, Cassia fasciculata, Bromus japonicus, Monarda punctata, and much Melilotus alba, Elymus canadensis.
