Habitat:
Along path. Sandy upland forest of Picea glauca - Abies balsamea - Betula lutea - Populus balsamifera - Taxus canadensis. Second growth Northern Coniferous forests in flat lands NW of and near lake on either side of creek. More/less bunch grass; 5-15 stems; clump without rhizomes; base of culms purple; the lower sheaths purple-streaked. Inflorescences only slightly nodding.
