Habitat:
Northern mesic forest (Acer saccharum dominant, with Betula alleghaniensis, Acer spicatum, Tilia americana, Ostrya virginiana) with very rich ground layer ( ferns, grasses, sedges, Ericaceae, Liliaceae) in gorge of creek. Rght near creek bank under a Betula alleghaniensis tree, in association with Gymnocarpium dryopteris, Dryopteris intermedia, Carex deweyana, Aster lateriflorus, Solidago flexicaulis, Diervilla lonicera, Fraxinus pennsylvanica sapling.
