Habitat:
In dry open fields and along edges of pine woods surrounding trailhead parking lot. Associated with Bromus inermis and Berteroa incana, little else. Abundant, the dominant and practically only plant. Most plants are glaucous (11,559-a); some Yellowish-green (11559-b); culms tufted, the thick matted bases forming peat-like turf under each clump; anthers (on green plant) 1.3 mm long.
