"Locust grove," 50 years old and declining, on S-facing slope; sandy loam or loamy sand soil. Polygonum scandens var. cristatum [raceme, achene, and wing-width of fruiting calyx like v. cristatum, length of fruiting calyx like v. scandens]. Spreading into less disturbed, partially wooded spots.
